What tools are you hiding in your drawers?

Drawers and cabinets in the home kitchen gang!

I was taking insurance photos today to update our records should something happen and thought this might be a good post? It's really a surprise when you stand back and look at all the crap we accumulate over the course of the years. How about ya'll?

Anyhow, I couldn't believe I forgot some of it was there. Trouble is, there's more that wasn't unpacked 8 years ago not to mention the stuff I have in the garage like a stainless steel maxi-rack loaded with assorted hotel pans and cambros, not to mention 3 full size soup wells and a greens keeper. There was a time when most of this stuff was used fairly regularly but this hasn't been the case in recent years. Have to admit though.....having most of this stuff, no matter how often it doesn't see use, still gives me a comfortable feeling knowing if the world ended tomorrow, I have the tools for a decent last meal! Imagine the storage we'd have if it wasn't for all this shtuff.

This is the island storage and above

That's a pretty nicely organizer home kitchen there OldSchool
Mine looks much more chaotic, especially the drawers
There's stuff I'm sure in there that hasn't seen the light of the kitchen in years,
I guess I'll need to go look now...

Yours looks way more organized then mine. :(

Man, Thanks for posting. I was feeling depressed about all the stuff I have that I spent money on or collected over the years. It decorates well  but I bought it thinking I will use it someday. Really happy to see it isn't just me. The next time one of my non foodie friends makes a negative remark about how much kitchen stuff I have I'll show them this post.  Now  I just need to organize mine more like yours and a few photos for insurance is a great idea.

Way more organized than mine, too. And you must have more drawers because you can't see the bottom of any of mine for all the junk overflowing from them. I culled last year but there's still way too much stuff in my cupboards and drawers. It's actually too embarrassing to post.

The hubs will be retiring in a few years ( I have not punched a clock in 8-9 years) and we have plans to move a fith wheeler to a small Gulf Coast town.
In anticipation of this I have been going thru stuff with the intention of reducing things by 50%.
The first room I hit was the kitchen and the drawers in particular.
You know those little rubber gripper thingies that are so handy when dealing with a really impossible to open jar?
Must have thrown out 15 of them.
All shapes sizes and colors.....
Every single one was advertising a business of some sort lol.

Don't feel bad.... we all have at least one junk drawer.
You never know when you might need that special plastic thingie that is supposed to cut FF.
I bought mine from one of the Grand's school fund raiser.

Darn!
Just hit me that I should have kept them.
Great stocking stuffers wasted lol.gif
