Dessert - regional considerations

Is fruit and cheese for dessert a regional thing? I'm in the Pacific Northwest and never consider fruit and cheese for dessert, but I've had people ask for it . . . Especially cheese if there's apple pie. I'm more of a crime brûlée kind of person . . . Ice cream is pretty high on my list too.

I love fruit and cheese for dessert, whatever region I happen to be in. A nice fruited baked brie in puff pastery is lovely with a drizzle of honey. Always nice to have a bit of dark chocolate to have on the side.

I think it is much more common in Europe than it is in the states, where we eat a lot of sweet desserts and do so often. We are sort of notorious for our prodigious sweet tooth in other parts of the world.
