So, I'm looking into finding a good city to hone my skills, but also, learn more and expand my knowledge. I really feel like I'm at a point in my career that I need to move somewhere different in order to see new things, but also a place I can bounce ideas off other like minded chefs. I definitely don't think I want to do the LA, Chicago, or NY scene, way too busy, way too pricey to live. So what would some recommendations be?
I'm not looking just to eat good cuisine. But more or less work for some of the chefs who are doing more innovative things than the city im currently in. Ive traveled quite a bit, and sad to say, I seriously doubt this town has any cuising ive never tried. Yes, its that boring of a town
If you ABSOLUTELY must leave where you're at now, then find the closest place to you, that you wouldn't mind moving to, that has a decent Japanese restaurant-that might be hiring in the time frame it would take you to gather your resources to make the move-and do it.
Too many people let Life pass them by because they convince themselves that they'll fail.
But the greatest success stories are those stories about people who persevered through MULTIPLE failures.
If you want it, then do it, dammit.
Peace.
