Unless you think it's a good idea for the FTC to allow the merger of the world's largest food distributor with the second largest, we all need to write our elected representatives. I've used both companies as suppliers and in my mind, the quality of service, and for my particular case, the fairness of the pricing, makes US Foods the FAR preferable broad based vendor. (I still source as much product as possible from local, small producers, and also enjoy the savings on my monthly Restaurant Deport excursions). For me, Sysco was a nightmare to deal with, always fighting for promised credits, substandard products on occasion, and a sneaky price creep on my core items. And they were criminal in their pricing on non food items, especially paper goods. I know if the merger goes through, Sysco will find a way to screw up US Foods terrific on-line systems and mobile apps. Never mind I'll lose my 20-30% savings per case. (Yes, it's THAT much, and I'm just a little guy)
Tell your politicians, that less competition is not a good thing!
