Feedback on Mac TO GYU-300

Thread Starter
Hi everyone. First post here. Been lurking for a while but decided to get out there and post a question.

Has anyone ever used a Mac TO GYU-300 knife? The knife is quite expensive (close to $1k here in Canada) so I wonder if the knife is really worth the money it commands.

I may have an opportunity to get the knife for $450-$500 so I'm wondering if anyone could give me his 2 cents on this knife.

I was looking for a Gyuto 270mm but this knife seems like a good deal (relative deal since it's still $500 for a knife!!!).

Thanks in advance.

You can get it for <$500 likely because that is more in line with what it typically sells for, regardless of msrp.  Mac is so vague about the steel of this knife I'd have to say that it is nothing unusual and likely many knives in the $3-400 will show equal or better.  In fact the Konosuke 270 HD2 has been available in the sub $300 range.

Recently saw this deal, not exactly stainless but for an AS knife I think it's a good deal, got a good review by a reliable individual in another forum.  Would be even better to see their laser in HAP40, probably will eventually.  Look at the AS gyuto's, they're the lasers in their lineup.
