need help finding a professional knife set on a budget

i need some help finding a good knife set on a budget. I've been working as cook for about 9 years mostly short order breakfast lunch places but I've been moving up and the place I'm at now I really need to have my own knives. Nothing fancy just something to get me by for now not looking to spend a ton of money. I was looking at the Wusthof Trident 8792 9 Piece Forged Knife Set but looking for other options. Thanks for the help

I use wusthof, and like them, but don't recommend buying a set. You really don't need that much stuff; also I personally prefer the "classic" handles. You should make sure you like those particular ones before you buy.

If you want cheap, Forschner is probably the best for under $100 for a chefs knife, and great for random butchering/specialty knives.  I think a 10" chefs knife is around $40.  Sure, it's not fancy and not the absolute best, but it'll work for now so you can figure out exactly what you want before investing a lot of money if you choose to.  Plus, if something happens to it, it's not a big deal.
