Help with Salmon Croquettes Please.

My grandmother made salmon croquettes ( from canned salmon ) for me as a child. She might not have told me how to do it, but I remember a beaten egg & &matzo meal was used . Inevitably salt and pepper. It was all mixed and then fried in butter. I can't remember anything else she might have put into it. Anything like breadcrumbs were not employed( I think.) Does this sound like anything is missing, or have I got a good recipe?

Thank's

This is how I make them, but sans bell pepper: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/salmon-croquettes-10000001949743/

Gourmandise is an impassioned, rational and habitual preference for all objects that flatter the sense of taste.

The matzo meal is the breadcrumbs in this case.

Also most recipes for salmon cakes, or croquettes, or crab cakes, have mustard, mayo, some sort of Old Bay type seasoning, salt, pepper, lemon juice

yes, I can see some of this . But the recipe I knew as a child was so much simpler. I can see the lemon juice and the mustard & mayo, but just a little . I think I used to eat it with a little catchup. I'm going to stick with motzo meal .
