Hi, I'm a home cook eager to learn new things.  I like experimenting with techniques like sous-vide and smoking.

Welcome Dan,

  lots to learn here ....

Keep an open mind and never forget to learn.   There's a lot of talent on this board, both old-school and new.   Everyone has an opinion or 'a special way' to do things.    Take them for what they are and figure out what you like.

Practice makes perfect and remember no-one ever makes an omelette without cracking a few eggs!

(ps- this is a very old board so even after doing a search .. check the dates... some things don't only go out of style they may be proven incorrect or outdated)

Hello, from another home cook!

Lots to learn here and our membership spans the world and all levels of culinary expertise. Feel free to join in on threads you want, or start your own in the relevant forum. There are a few Professional fora which are read only for those of us not employed in a culinary trade.

The articles, reviews and photography are worth exploring, as are the archives.

Hope we'll see around the boards!
