Hi. I am an aspiring pastry chef and hope to someday own my own 'dessert heaven'

Welcome kafura! I think you will find this site and its community to be very supportive and informative as you explore this change in your life direction.

The forums are a great source of information, and I'm sure you'll spend a lot of time reading there. Please be aware that for home cooks like you and me the professional forums are "read only". We can search and learn there all we like but must do posting of any questions in the general forums. Our questions are addressed there.

Besides the forums, though, you'll find excellent articles in the main Chef Talk site. Don't miss those! As an aspiring pastry chef you'll find thousands of amazing photos of pastry work in the photo galleries. We invite you to post examples of your own work there as you develop your techniques. I've put my own efforts there, simple as they are, for the pleasure of sharing.

Was there someone or an experience that inspired you to want to move into this new domain? I find people's stories of food and cooking epiphanies fascinating.

Best of luck! We hope you enjoy taking part in the community.
