Technology And Cooking

Hi everyone. I am really interested in the use of technology within the kitchen in particular if recipe apps and websites benefit you when cooking. For my final year university project I am developing a recipe oriented application and I have created a survey to find out more about how people use the technology at this link http://www.sogosurvey.com/k/RQsRXYSWsRsPsPsP .

It would be great if people with a real interest in cooking and also technology could fill it out as I am struggling to find many of my own contacts who fit these categories. I would also love to hear opinions on apps and technology in cooking on the forum, over email and keeping in contact for opinions throughout the course of the project, so I can create an application centred around those who love to cook. All information you give will be kept anonymous :)

I think a dedicated app is of little value. I know others disagree with me.

Thank you for the link to that, a lot of the applications you mention I have researched as well as so it's great to get more opinions :)

The application I am planning to build would focus mainly on recipe management and the ability to collaborate with others on recipes like shared cookbooks as well as having other features that have made other apps successful such as conversion tools and timers. So I plan on building a tool that is not too dedicated but more an application with the features that appeal to cooks most with main focus on recipe management if that makes sense :) I am hoping to use the survey to find out about the features that appeal most as well as learn more about peoples overall opinions

One of the things about the most prolific posters on this site is a fairly high mastery of technique that begins to free one from needing a recipe in many cases. This will skew the results you're going to get.  We may not be a good target audience for what you want to do.

Ok thanks for your help. If you do think you know anyone (not necessarily on the forum) that could be interested in doing the survey or talking to me be about this please direct them to this thread :)
