Growing something new in my garden...

Bacon! :bounce:

I walked out to plant a few onions and looked down and saw something had chewed a collard plant. I suspected deer, and that is the reason I've constructed a six foot fence around the garden but I still have about 8 feet to close off. I've never seen wild hogs on my property but I knew they were in the area. Apparently momma pig came in to see if she liked collard greens and promptly ran away screaming.. this piglet must have run with her to the end of the enclosure and gotten trapped..

I had contemplated raising it on feed grain.. but really I don't have time for that. Domestic piglets only cost avg. $25 so having one magically show up didn't really change much, and I'd have to build a pen etc. Luckily it finally ran off. It did give me a sudden urgency to finish my fence!

A hog could root right under that fence. I hope they don't get too partial to those collards and tear up your whole plot.
