What's your 'go to' app/site for allergy info?

I get hit with special requests in the kitchen all the time... gluten-free, allergic to this, allergic to that. Sometimes, I simply don't know. Do you have a favorite, tried and true app or site that is effective?

Hi Jim,

I've never really looked for an app, but what I did do was compile my own allergy binder for quick reference.  I assembled all the info as a way of educating myself on every allergen and every type of foodstuffs they can be found in....Best thing is the FDA has mandated that all products clearly include what allergens, if any are included in their product....Very beneficial, but not all inclusive as I've found that some of that really small writing at the bottom of the ingredient list can kill/make sick as quickly as swallowing a peanut....If you're running the kitchen...best bet is to take the time and educate yourself......Nothing feels better to me than getting an allergy ticket in the middle of the rush, regardless of what it is and knowing I got my stuff covered.....just sayin......you'd be suprised what's in what nowadays.......Oh and SOY IS in just about everthing...lol....

Thank you, @BeachChef22. I appreciate your thoughts. I like the idea of a binder; seems very comprehensive. My challenge would be the timeliness of being able to respond/react to customer inquiries. I like the idea of compiling some items for quick reference. Thank you for responding!
