How do you like the new men's style?

Have you noticed, they are suddenly everywhere, the bearded men, perfectly groomed. Have you noticed too how classy they are dressed? Expensive watches and ditto shoes... what's happening?

What's your opinion on the new men's style? I kind of like it!

Are you just seeing these guys? I guess I started seeing them about 7, maybe 10 years ago in seattle. I agree its a good look, and I myself like the "old" style clothes more than modern ones. My dislike stems from the fact that I feel that someone going to the trouble of wearing a waistcoat, a watch chain, and pocket handkerchief in this day and age is basically screaming "I'm a special flower!" at you. But maybe I'm just cranky.

And no I don't particularly care for it.

Thumbs up on the careful grooming but I really have a visceral & negative reaction to the big, bushy beards. I know several men who sport them and I just find them (the beards) completely unattractive. Some of those men I knew in their pre-bearded days and didn't find them unattractive at all, so it's the beards that completely turn me off. A well-trimmed and neat beard is OK. One thing I really, really can't take at all seriously is a handlebar mustache. They make me alternate between repulsion and giggling and I'm seeing way too many of them these days.

I agree Terry.
Last season (or maybe the one before that?) a Top Chef contestant sported one of those rediculous mustaches.
Was a decent cook but I just couldn't find him at all like able.
Then the season ended and (Lean cuisine?) shot a few commercials with him.
Maybe it was a prize for something or another.
Whatever........

The "Dos Equis" video remembered me of an advertising campaign that ran in the 1950-60 period.

I was in advertising in most of my professional life and was a great admirer of David Ogilvy (Ogilvy & Mather), who turned Schweppes into a huge success using "Commander Whitehead" as the face of the campaign. You'll see where Dos Equis got their inspiration. This is how the Schweppes campaign looked over 50 years ago...

Thanks Petals! That video is a riot. I've heard of this ad campaign but never seen any of the commercials. Very funny.
