Big city chef in a seaside town!

Hey guys,

Thanks a lot for dropping by my thread. I just wanted to introduce myself really. I grew up in Manchester, England and was working around Europe for 4 years (Manchester, London, France, Greece) throughout my apprenticeship and decided to move to Sydney after I qualified. After 12 months in Sydney, I managed to secure a position (with a 4 year visa) in a small coastal town on the South Coast of NSW, Australia. Although the sights, weather and lifestyle is fantastic, the level of cuisine is quite mediocre. As I am still brand new in this industry I want to continue learning from others while enjoying the lifestyle at the same time, and ChefTalk seems to be a great place to do that, so thank you :)

Welcome. Glad to have you here!

 

I had a cook that worked for me that was from Manchester. Great guy, the funny part was that even though we were speaking the same language, occasionally our different accents would get in the way and we would look at each other like "say what" before it would filter through and sink in. Too funny!

welcome, glad you joined us. Where about in Greece and France did you work? I worked in Boug en Bresse France and in Santorini Greece so I was interested in your travels.
