Do figs or lavender cause hives?

Has anyone heard of figs causing hives? I made a fig galette the other day, flavored with some honey and a few bits of lavender (edible variety, not sachet). I've had fresh figs many times. This is the first time I've ever had hives.

What could have caused the reaction is the pollen contained in the honey. ANYTHING can cause an allergic reaction.

Also consider what the food was processed with or even the chemicals used to grow the food.

I'm sure you're right about the potential honey issue, but I've had honey from that jar before. On the other hand, I don't remember when the last time I used lavender was.

But whatever caused it, cortisone cured it! What a dangerous, seductive drug. It wiped the itch away before I left the hospital. AND it did wonders for my joints, gave me a swell night's rest, the best in years. (I know it's dangers, too. My mother took it for emphezema, it made her bones so brittle that when she took a fall she never recovered from her broken ribs.)
