White And Black truffle

Thread Starter
As my friend knows I'm a huge foodie I have been bought a whole bunch of cookery-related stuff for my birthday as well as other things. She's bought me fresh truffle, oil-infused with white truffle, a honey with black truffle and salt-infused with truffle and it also has truffle flakes in it. I've only ever had it at restaurants and im not entirely sure how to best cook with it so I'd love suggestions from people far more knowledgeable than I

Thanks, Arron

Sounds like a great friend!  Be careful with the truffle oil, it's very potent.  But good mixed with butter, shallots, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper.  And put on a grilled on seared steak.  Same with the truffle salt, great to put on a steak AFTER it's cooked.  Chicken too.  Both the oil and salt are great on almost any variety of cooked potatoes, fries, mash, baked.  You name it.  Truffle honey is by far my favorite truffle product, great on blue cheese, goat cheese, brie cheese, ricotta, etc!  Add some fresh fruit and it's a great dessert.  These are the basics.  Enjoy!
