I have seen some of the replies which recommend getting work experience before joining a school. I may have to spend some time in US/Canada, and I am thinking of joining a school. I won't be able to work, since I am not a resident of either country. I am an older candidate. I am interested in cooking. Some of the posts on this forum on a chef's job sound scary. I am thinking of joining a less stressful position (if I can ).
I'd prefer to be in a major city, e.g., Toronto or Montreal.
I am interested in programs which are 5 months or so. I'd also prefer if they aren't too expensive. Stratford seems to be around 7000++
