Which Induction Range To Buy

Thread Starter

Hi.  I'm in the market (again) for an induction range, around 3500 watts.  I have had rather bad luck with one brand (I've had three, including one replacement I paid for).

The problem has been that after 8-12 months, the digital readouts go haywire, bouncing around.  Then the thing just quits.

The location of the range is ten to fifteen feet away from any fryers or grills, which are under hoods anyway.

Was wondering if any of you have experience with these and what brand you would suggest.  They work great when they're working, but they are too expensive to be replacing every 10-15 months.

Thanks much if you can help.

I typically specify Cooktek although I have also used SpringUSA.

Vollrath has been hit and miss for me, and for the price, you may as well get a generic Update International one.

Are you using countertop units or free standing ranges?  I would think that you should still be under warranty.  Have you contacted the mfg for a warranty claim?

If you need any help with this, let me know.
