I'm not a fan of the DMT's....I find them to be lacking in longterm, harduse scenario.  I switched to Atoma's after my 3rd DMT plate in 5 years.

Suehiro has a newish flattening stone that seems better than other non-plate flatteners....

Automotive sand"paper" on linen, like "Metall" by Robert Bosch, P120 works quite well for me with the Chosera 400.

What do you.mean?

The backing plate and the diamond grit plate are 2 seperate pcs.  held together magnetically.  I find both the plates themselves, the way the grit pattern is, and the replaceable nature of them as they wear (and they all wear) to be ideal....

going on 2 years and going strong.
