Hi,

Good to finally have registered after lurking this fantastic forum for more than a year. I decided that maybe i should contribute with some nordic food recipies, our take on life for example. :)

Anyways, thanks for a great forum, and see you in the cooking department.

Welcome, Mona! We're glad you decided to join in the community and take part in the discussions. We look forward to your additions and hope you, too, gain some insights and have some fun as well.

I once spent over a month in Sweden and Denmark many years ago and adored the wonderful, fresh seafood. I know that's still part of the cuisine, but also that fresh, healthy dishes are now quite prevalent in the region. In my area of the U.S. (Wisconsin) we have many people whose family heritage is Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Finnish, so people often prepare traditional dishes especially at holiday times. We hear about lutefisk and aebelskiver, but people here don't know much else about Scandinavian food. I hope you can provide some insights.

But we are more than only discussion forums! We have cooking articles, cookbook and equipment reviews, photo galleries, etc. We hope you'll explore all of the site and enjoy it all.

Welcome!

Mezzaluna

Thanks Mezzaluna!

Abelskiver is one of my favourite desserts acutally! I will post my recipie wich includes blueberry jam soon.

Can tip about a fish speciality which we make in northern Sweden which is called Surströmmning, which - although its a speciality - is infamos here as well.
