Getting tired of my google product searches being shoved down my throat every time I log into the site.

That's Google, not so much Cheftalk. Google is an ad provider here at Cheftalk.

You can clean out your google history.

support.google.com/websearch/answer/465   This works best if you have a Google account. If you're just tracked by cookies, you can clear your cookies.

I think you can also choose to use untargeted ads by google as well.

Or there are some browser tweaks and plug ins you might pursue. I have my browser set to not load flash unless I click on the specific flash item.  Or there are plug ins which control scripts on sites and such. And some other options too.

No one likes the ads but no is willing to fork over money to pay for the site. Kind of like no one enjoys watching commercials but they like their television programs. What I have learned with the site over the years is @chefbuba it takes a lot of capital (and TIME) to keep sites going and the capital has to come from somewhere. Several attempts were made at fund raising donations ad free memberships but there was never enough to keep the site going. Sorry for the ads but they are what pay to keep the site going.

As for tracking your every move, every site does this now not just ChefTalk. Every site that serves ads of any kind implement marketing pixels on the site and they set a cookie which tracks you and the various sites you visit. It is actually a good thing in some regards because you end up seeing ads that are at the very least much more relevant to your interests. If you do not wish to be tracked I suggest installing a free add on for chrome and firefox called Ghostery. It disables all tracking and I use it myself.
