Been gone for a while

So I have been off this board for a while.  The reason is i had total hip replacement surgery about two weeks ago.  I am finally getting to the point where I can sit at the desk in front of the computer.  I am still not quite ready to go back to work.  I miss it and I am looking forward to being able to work without pain.

No, just my left one.  I suffered from a slipped capital femoral epiphysis which means over time I developed severe arthritis in that hip.  It was so bad I could barely walk at the end of shift and the only place I could sit comfortably was in my recliner.  Now I don't have that pain anymore.

I don't know exactly what that means (I suppose I could Google it) but I'm glad you don't have pain anymore.  Have a great recovery.  :)

Long story short, I was walking around with the hip of an 80 year old.

Glad you are on the mend.
Was it not awesome waking up in PACU and feeling that relief?
Yeah the surgical pain still has to be delt with but at least you know it will go away.

I was so relieved after my first lumbar fusion that I started crying with relief.
Home in 2 days.

The second time around....not so much.

When I woke up I woke up hurting.  Then they gave me pain meds.  The only other time I really hurt was when they turned off the epidural pump after it ran out of medicine, but forgot to refill it.  Worst pain of my life.
