Oven visit - eat too, a treat in Bethesda

Okay, it's an artisnal pizza place, not exactly a new idea. But if you want to look at a massive oven, and eat, of course, there's a good place in Bethesda, Md. At Pitzze, the dough is all made with sourdough starter, not commercial yeast. That goes for both the pizza and the breads.

Here's some oven porn (hope it is okay to use that word in this context). I got lightheaded just looking at it.

You know you are gonna eat real when you can see the heat source.
While we are on the subject....
Here is the wood prep area Kreuz Market BBQ in Lockhart ,Texas.
Sits in the downtown area so of course no open pits outside.
Check out that wall lol.
From there they shovel into the long open pits (same inside room ...man does it get hot in the summer) and the magic begins.
Been there over 100 years and we never go to Austin without a stop on the way home for the smoked prime rib and pork roasts.

That is one beautiful pit. I'll bet a dough in a nice cast iron pot would bake very well indeed. Might be worth a trip to Texas just to see.

Be sure to pack a larger belt and an extra roomy pair of jeans.
We women call them our "fat pants"

We were in your neck of the woods last Fall.
Leaf peeping.
Gorgeous weather but got really cold and rainy on the day we had set aside for visiting your area.
Now I have a good reason to go back as I cannot get that pizza oven out of my head lol.
