Hey all

Hey all, I'm a fairly accomplished home cook, for the most part; I taught myself, starting in my twenties. Boy was I once bad! I can remember having a pair of streaks sitting in the oven to broil, repeatedly checked on them, only to discover raw, cold meat time and time again. After hours, I gave up and ordered pizza. That was when I decided to actually learn to cook. A while later, I realized there was such a thing called a broiler oven and I learned to broil darn good streaks in it. Today, I cook off the hip, throwing what's on hand into the mix. My most requested things to make are pies, breads, and, oddly enough, kimchi. Personally, I love making sweet and savory sauces and just about anything from raw Jersey milk. I also make a lot of jams and syrups from wild berries or cook straight from my garden, if I can keep the chickens out.

I hope to learn a lot from all of you!

Welcome glad you joined ChefTalk.com It is really enjoyable to me to make my own jams as well and it sounds like you have a wonderful garden.

Thanks,
