A brief hello

Thread Starter

Hi my name is jordan, I am permaculture farmer growing fruits, nuts, grains, herbs, vegetables, meat and more here in the sierra nevada mountains. My stomach rules my life and in turn i must cook. i have learned to cook based on traditional styles as well as on my own thoughts, tastes and skills, using the products i produce myself mostly. this includes curing meats, smoking foods and using traditional cooking methods like a wood fired oven. which saw something like 700 pies last year for friends and family.

looking to talk with others addicted to cooking fresh food.

Welcome Soil!!!!  You've definitely found the right place.  There are a lot of people on these boards as passionate about food as you seem to be.  We have a lot of "hobby" gardeners" here but not a lot (few but not a lot) of hard core farmers so it will be interesting to hear your take on some of our discussions.  Feel free to jump right in and join some discussions are start new threads with questions you might have.
