How much pork do I need to buy to feed 32 college boys?  1/2 lb each??     I will have 3 side dishes and dessert with it.  Thank you.

What cut of pork? Shoulder? You will loose approx 40% during cooking.

What are your side dishes?

Just salad, or also rolls, sauces etc?

Butt and shoulder are the same thing.  The pork butt cut comes from the shoulder of the butt.  Sometimes it's called a picnic butt.  This will be the most cost effective cut.  Have you ever made bbq before?  I'm just asking because it can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing and consider you don't know that a butt and shoulder are the same thing then I'm thinking you've never cooked one?  What I'm really trying to say is do you need a recipe?  Lots of folks here know what to do with a butt :)

I'd do less butts and pull it. Have buns on the side.

Deviled eggs and baked beans?? I wouldn't let those boys around any open flames:lol:

Thank you for clarifying I've cooked it in a crock pot before and used a recipe I got from All Recipes. It was delicious! We are cooking for a race event and there can be no open flames in the paddock area (yeah!! 😀). So, we have to use a huge roaster. Oaster Roaster 18 to 22 quart size. I hope that will work. Any other suggestions? Thank you!
