A mix but not really a mix... Our famous brewers put all their knowledge into this highly specialized "kriek" or cherry beer, which is a maceration of ripe cherries on artisan beer obtained from spontaneous fermentation. The cherries will swim in beer for 3/4 of a year, to be served the next summer season. Perfect sweet and sour balance and very refreshing red-ish summer beer. If you know the sweet/sour balance of Italian lambrusco wine, this beer is very close to that also very summery wine.
Many women don't really like plain beer, but a cherry beer on a summery terras is very popular amongst our female population! A few brands are now sold world wide.
The one in the picture is Mort Subite.
And... you can make a lot of dishes using beers. Here I made a sabayon with this Mort Subite cherry beer (picture from last year). Simply an egg yolk per person plus half an egg shell of cherry beer and a small half egg shell of sugar. Whisk "au bain marie" or on a very low fire until the sabayon binds, gets dense enough so it doesn't collpse but stays fluffy. Serve over summer red fruit, torch. Nothing weird, simply divine!
BTW, you traditionally use half an egg shell to measure the ingredients in a sabayon.
