Roasting vs Crockpot

Thread Starter
I marinated a pork leg roast in a huge mix of seasonings including mojo juice, a garlic/basil paste, and several citrus juices. The recipe wants me to roast it in the oven for 6 hours but can I put it in the crockpot instead? I understand it won't get a crust on it, but can I sear it first or cook it in the oven for the last 30 mins to get a crust? I just don't want to run my oven all day. Any suggestions to get the crust AND cook it MOSTLY in the crockpot?

Is this a fresh ham?  or shoulder?  Is the skin on the whole thing?
