I've seen a bunch of these kinds of ships at Port Canaveral, but I've never been on one. For some reason I never stopped to consider the whole food aspect - that's amazing.
Couple of things really made an impression on me. The inventory manager. That guy cannot screw up! Also, all the different people and different languages you work with on board the ship. And we complain about having to learn kitchen Sanish here.
In the middle of watching this video; very interesting and reminds me of my first job working for a cruise company at a land destination in Alaska. Massive high volume and lots of steam tables. Had a lot of fun with the adrenaline of service but don't miss the food in the least. watching this video there is a point where I see the assembly line of cooks and this persons job is putting the kabob on the plate, the next person job is saucing the plate and the last persons job is putting the lid on the plate. soul crushing work that makes the repetitiveness of my work seem even more attractive.
