Name for a french cafe

Hullo everyone smile.gif
I have just finished my diploma in classic French pastry from a prestigious schoo in Paris. I am very enthusiastic about opening my own French cafe in Pakistan. Since i am new in this business, I can't think of a lot of good options for naming the cafe frown.gif
I'd appreciate nice suggestions. Let me mention that I would like the name to be quite french and classy.
Although all kinds of suggestions are welcome smile.gif

Tabby, congratulations on your success.  How about the name of your shoppe reflecting the environment you made in your post? "Prestige".  It's to the point.

If I had a bakery I would call it Panini. If I moved to Pakistan, maybe something like 'Bisou Doux' or 'Beaute Me Attend'sorry can't make accents with my ancient machine but aigu over the e in beaute. or 'Delices Enchantees' again aigu over both first e's.

Hi Tabby.  The name should be uniquely your own, i.e. what dishes do you excel at, what are competitors serving, what will appeal to the general public that hasn't been done and done again. What will set you apart from the rest?

 

I adore croissants - from chocolate-filled to ham and cheese and on and on.

 

What's your signature dish, and go from there. The name will come to you.

What do you think of "Maison de Dèlices" ? Since I love the word Maison biggrin.gif

I appreciate what you said. It does help foster thinking process.
Well. I am a beginner so can't say what i make best. But my idea of my bakery is to have 3 sections. 1 specifically for French breakfast (breads and croissants etc.) . Second for french patisseries and the third one exclusively for chocolate (pralines, bonbon etc) .
I must say working with chocolate excites me the most! Whereas during my course i made Opera (cake) really nice.
So one the options is "L' Opèra" . I don't dislike it but I don't find it too uncommon frown.gif
The others are "Maison de Patisserie" or "Maison de Dèlices" ... Well these are just options. Thinking process is still on!

Then call it "L'Opera Unique" or " L'Opera Classique" ,or L'Opera Nouveau, or' L'Opera Ma Facon"  ,or "L'Opera Nouveau Facon"

Maison de l'opéra

Maison de délices

 

Things quite French

Délices mignons

maison de pâtisseries

Plaisirs mignons

Maison française

Maison de pâtisseries françaises

 

just ideas with appropriate French accents as visual aid.

I like "Tabby's."  It's you, it's short, it's catchy, unique, and a name people will remember. I was also thinking something with the word pastry in the title.  "Chocolate Baguette" came to mind, but it's already taken (in Texas ;-) )

I personally like Maison de Dèlices. 

 

However, I'm not sure many of us are in a position to give you advice. If this is in Pakistan, cultural views and references are very different in the west. Is french baking and general gastronomy viewed as it is in Europe or America? I know I can't answer that question. 

 

But I still like Maison de Dèlices   :)

In Pakistan good food is highly regarded, like everywhere else. People like dinning out and appreciate having different varieties of cuisine. In my city, there are only a few nice French restaurant and are highly successful. What is lacking is authentic French pastry. So I thought I might be able to bridge tiny bit of the gap in market. The demand is there, which is good for my business. And if I provide good quality French pastry, so it'll be a success God willing.
So the launching the business is still a distant dream, as i am still in Paris doing my internship. But at least i want to finalise the name, get copy rights and start designing logo etc.
i also like Maison de Dèlices, it's short listed already smile.gif but how do you guys think of "Bon Cadre Bon Goût" (excuse the accents please) .

Hmm the initials are familiar to a clothing line: BCBG.

I am French Canadian not from France.  Your meaning of the word cadre is lost to me.

In my area it either means

a) a frame as in door or picture frame

b) a management position

c) also limitation as in action limitation.

 

There is another significance that I haven't heard before according to the Larousse dictionary and this website dictionary: http://www.linternaute.com/dictionnaire/fr/definition/cadre/

which is environment (as in milieu).

Please don't make a mistake in the title.  It should be: La Maison de Délices (not du).

 

I'm not really a marketing guy.... there are much more artistic ppl here than me.
