no offense but you must work in some seriously shitty restaurants if you are afraid to taste the chefs food.

Not that pan needs rescuing I thought to make mention that any chef's special at his shop would most likely be created by him using fresh ingredients.

Although things are changing and this does not happen everywhere the "blackboard" offering will contain a few ingredients needing to be moved before the peak of freshness has been reached.
I never ever eat a seafood special on Monday either.

When the server walks into the restaurant and punches in she does what the Management asks of them. The last thing a restaurant Chef or Manager needs is the wait staff running the show. It's a non issue have her come back when she learns how to follow the rules.
