Hello,

 

I am a culinary student at Le Cordon Bleu in Sacramento. Currently I am looking for an externship in the area. However, to be honest I am abit confused as to how toi go about it. For 9 years I was out of the working world due to a medical condition. Also, I have not worked in the industry before.  I realize that this makes me a least likely canadite for a job/externship, but I am willing to do my best.

How do I explain the gap in years between jobs without going into too much detail? Any advice to someone who is new to the industry?

Also, can anyone give advice about going about getting an externship and also being on one?
