EAT THEM RAW. Except for fresh, ripe mangos, I can think of no other fruit I'd rather eat. I have a fugu on my counter. When it's dead ripe, I'll eat it! :lips:

EMTCHEF,
I just started a thread on this topic in the Recipe forum a couple of weeks ago and got no answer :(
Since someone here had talked about persimmon pudding and also about serving persimmon with game, I was looking forward to good inputs...but I suppose the guy missed my thread, hopefully being very busy with his new job :)

Maybe you'll have better luck?

Pongi, they're just now in season in many parts of the U.S.

I'm looking forward to a yummy dessert to follow the pot roast for tonight's meal.

I did a search on FoodTV.com and came up with several recipes. Here is a sauce recipe --

I use them in sauces...

Try for example mixing them with tamarind pulp, Thai Fish Sauce,
moscabado sugar, mirin, and vegetable broth, sea salt and sweet chili sauce (Thai), dried schezuan peppercorns... and go for the BBQ.

Good with pork Satay ,,, Yummmm!!!
