Hi All,

If anyone in the Washington DC area has any lines on potential chefs that are looking for an apprentice, I would greatly appreciate your pointing me in the right direction.
A little bit about me...
I am 33 years old and I am a pre operative transwoman. I was recently released from incarceration, during which I self studied culinary science, theory, and technique through books and magazines. I am appreciative of my past mistakes because it lead me to nurture a passion for food and cooking that I always had but never paid much attention to. I have staged at Vidalia since being home and I am now having a hard time getting my foot in the door in a great kitchen. Beating the doors down isn't yielding as many results as I thought it would.
