ROTFL.....just so that there are customers....and hopefully not a ton of inbreeding.
Some of my favs were off the beaten path....LeRuth's in Gretna,LA
Shoot Chez Panisse in Berkley was not in SF, Artesia in Abita Springs, Joe Dryfuss Store in ????La., or John Folse's place under the Sunshine Bridge.....destinations. most are gone now but "in the day" they were some of the best.
*I lived in DeRidder,La for 3 years in the early 80's.....10,000 people, dry parish, 45 minutes from Lake Charles <chinese food>, 1.5 hours from Alexandria, La; about 3-4 hours from New Orleans and Houston.....DeRidder essentially closed it sidewalks at noon on Sat. finding product was difficult, I remember a trip to Alexandria where I actually found granny smith apples!!! Hard to fathum now. We moved to Baton Rouge and every chance I got we hit the 70miles to New Orleans.
