Wish I could help. Goat is an underrated meat, the few times I've cooked it I did it with an African influence. Last month at Salt Lake City's Living Traditions festival I got some goat stew that was REALLY good, but again African style.

All lamb recipes will work.

Every smoker quits smoking sooner or later!

Only the smart ones are doing it while they are still alive.

Stew recipes are for the most part family specific.
You don't have even one living relative who can talk you thru this?

This is a huge reason we need to get these family favorites down in writing before they die out.
You don't have to go to the trouble to put together an actual cookbook just jot them down and keep them in a folder.
IMO .

Latin Goat Stew could be a lot of things. Can you describe your mom's goat stew in more detail? Flavors, color, etc

Never made goat stew - I make goat carnitas and they are delicious.  I knew a Jamaican woman years ago who made the best goat roti.

Yes! Get those family recipes written down!

I've never gotten over the fact that neither my sister or I could find our mother's spattered, handwritten cookbook after she died. We grew up eating Hungarian walnut and poppyseed rolls at Christmas and the recipe she, her sisters, her mother, and her mother's mother all used is lost. So are the palacsinta, chicken paprikash, & stuffed pepper recipes. For some weird reason, none of them ever really made goulash.

Where do you find a Latin goat?
