My name is Lisa. I am a new culinary student at Escoffier Online International Culinary Academy I need assistance with a decision about a meal I am making. I am going to make a Grilled Watermelon and Shrimp salad with a vinaigrette dressing. I need to make a soup that pairs well with it. I am looking at making a Greek-style Shrimp and Orzo Soup with Feta. Would this pair well together?

This forum is only to introduce yourself I think if you want more feedback on your question you should post in the food and cooking forums. However, here are my two thoughts. I would not pair a shrimp salad course with a shrimp soup course it is redundant. Now there is nothing that says you can't but I think it is good when you vary your courses. The salad sounds wonderful and very refreshing. You should consider swapping the shrimp in your soup with chicken. Or if you want to continue with the light summer theme then serve a gazpacho soup.
