Hi, my name is Brandon and I've been looking for shared commercial kitchens in the south OC area.

I currently do catering in Northern California but want to settle in Southern California so that I can start my own catering business. I’m a one man catering company and won’t need very many kitchen hours in the beginning because I'm starting out new. I’d estimate 3 to 5 hours one day out of the business week. I’m looking to work in a clean, friendly, and respectful environment where I can do my cooking and then clean up according to your standards.

I will be moving to Southern California sometime between July and August. I'm just trying to get everything organized in advance to make my move as smooth as possible.  If possible I'd like to find out your rates and any other terms I should be aware of. I'm visiting orange county and san diego from April 15 to 18 and may extend my stay to see as many commercial kitchens as possible. Let me know if it's possible to visit the kitchen during that time frame.

I’m just getting a head start in researching and learning about all the business requirements to start my own catering business.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Brandon,

Have you looked into The Hood in Costa Mesa? They charge $35-40/hr, there's a small processing fee, and a $500 refundable deposit. You have to go through training to learn their cleaning standards, and shared space protocol, too. I was considering using their facilities when I got some interest in my baked goods from a local coffee shop, but couldn't make the numbers work in my favor. The facility is new, large, and very clean. Good luck!

Thanks Bonnie for your help. I looked at the Hood in costa mesa and it looked good but was looking for something closer to South OC or in South OC. Are you familiar with anything in the South OC? If not that's okay. I'll still give the Hood a visit just to check it out in person.
