Everything but olive oil, pepperoncino and salt is from the garden.  Tomatoes, garlic, parsley and basil.

End product run through the food mill -

It's delicious - I might have a glass with breakfast tomorrow.  Got another batch just like to make on Sunday and more tomatoes on the way - yeash - when it rains it pours.

Looks like a nice yield. I tried this one time.. and the amount of work required did not at all justify what I got back. I also didn't own a food mill yet.. but bought one after that. Maybe some day I'll give it a shot again.

I'm about to embark on a similar process though with store-bought tomatoes.  Enjoy!

Just mix in some tabasco, salt, pepper and vodka and I bet you got an awesome bloody mary

Great reminder. Canned 30 pints of San Marzano tomatoes last year. I need to get going this year before it's all over.

Batch #2 yesterday - time to bag and freeze before the next round.

I'm jealous. No homegrown tomatoes for me this year. But I did manage to can a bunch of zucchini relish!

I have about 40 pounds of tomatoes in the freezer to process into sauce. And more to pick yet! Waiting for cooler weather so I can open the windows and not roast myself in the kitchen!

Just finished making almost 2 gallons of grilled vegetable salsa that I canned and processed the other day.

I don't know what happened to the "garden" thread, but I caught two woodchucks today.  I dispatched them both, but had it been first frost - Mmmm - into the pot you go pal . . . just sayin'   :chef:
