Overly sweet dessert dilemma

Hi all

I'm a newbie here and an amateur home cook.

Yesterday I decided to try out a new recipe, something I've never tried before, a honey semifreddo dessert.

It turned out alright, but the issue I'm having is that its way too sweet because I put in a bit too much honey.

I was thinking of making a sauce to go over it to kind of neutralize the overly sweet flavour. I was thinking of a lemon and mint sauce but I have no idea how to go about making a sauce.

If any dessert fundis are out there reading this, I would love your advice on how to go about making a sauce that will ease the sweetness away? It doesn't necessarily have to be a lemon sauce can be anything else that is simple.

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Maybe adding something crunchy would be better than a sauce. Salted pistachios (or any nut) would be lovely with the honey and would help balance the sweetness.
Other options would be granola, ginger snaps (crumbled) or some roasted fruit: apples, pears, etc.

If you decide to make the semifreddo again, try caramelizing the honey first. Bring it to a boil until the color darkens. This will intensify the flavor and add slight bitterness to help with balance.
