What does everyone eat when they're on the road where there by car or other means?

Today I'm traveling to Boston for the weekend so there should be some good eats in my near future. First stop at Cracker Barrel. I'm carb splurging hehe.

When I say Boston I think Ipswich fried Whole Belly Clams....Yankee Lobster...check with locals about other places for fried clams.

Neptune Oyster for almost anything and Lobster rolls...Cherry stone clams....

The Daily Catch......Anything seafood

Giacomo's Ristorante...Italian anything.......

Have fun......Think Seafood.........Enjoy

Of course I'm thinking seafood. Lunch was heavy but I made some room for a cup of chowder and some oysters at Legal Seafood. Never been there before so I thought I'd try it. The oysters were really good, got an assortment and they printed out the types for me. Clan chowder was ok, chalk full of clams though.

I'll suggest Ye Olde English Fish and Chips in Woonsocket, RI. Across from the Museum of Work, which is a pretty interesting museum of the textile industry. Ye Olde English has been around for years. My grandmother worked there decades ago and it is still in the same family.

More generally, I look for good independent places and when a coastal traveler, based on seafood naturally. I'm a journey, not a destination traveler, so a side trip here and there is always expected.

I would totally go to Louis lunch on my way home tomorrow but alas they are closed. Yikes. I love all these suggestions. Too bad I had to work st Harvard square all morning and then attending a wedding all evening. That doesn't give me much time to do ANYTHING in between! So I picked up a quick poke bowl and man did it hit the spot. Hopefully clam chowder will be on the menu at the wedding fingers crossed.
