Really what do they call French Onion Soup in France?? Do they have a soup like it in France? What's the deal on it? By the way I am also checking out the web for the answer.

Okay so the question wasn't worth asking. I should have checked for the answer first. Soupe a L' Oignon Gratinee. Thought to be the product of a night in Louis the XV hunting cabin. He had onion, butter, and Champagne. Mixed it up and French Onion soup was born. Sorry to waste yalls time.

Not to worry. That whole thing of re-naming everything French is a greater waste of time, especially the time of our legislators.
