What's in your Fridge

Thread Starter
Here is a question I posted back in 1999. What do you keep in your fridge that you wouldn't dream of being without ever? Beer, wine and/or liquor don't count. With all the people who have joined since then I thought it would be interesting to see what new responses we got.

Looking through my fridge, things haven't changed a whole lot for me since 1999. I still have a couple different kinds of Hungarian and German Sausages, 3-5 kinds of mustard, lots of different fruit butters and jams, most homemade. There is always a jar or 2 of hot sauce, usually some sauerkraut, and a container of French Onion Dip for those late night munchies!! Of course, there would be many more staples, in the fridge, if I wouldn't always keep 3-5 kinds of beer and cider in there.:p

Butter - unsalted for cooking and "regular" for sandwiches
Eggs
Yogurt
2% milk
A carton of chicken stock
Greens in the crisper

Coriander chutney, dijon mustard a l'ancienne

Milk, butter, egg, juice

Homemade jelly: raspberry, blueberry

Lettuce, carrots to much on and asparagus when in season

Kiwis, pears, granny smith apples and seasonal citrus fruits
When I get a little money, I buy books. And if there is any left over, I buy food.

Ideally? Soy sauce, lots of cheeses, seltzer water (good for remedying the effects of all that cheese) cranberry juice, lemons and limes, unsalted butter, Hellman's mayo, good bread (sourdough or French usually), hummus, and a few things that don't go in the fridge: Berio olive oil, couscous, some kind of salty junk food, and stoned wheat thins or water crackers to go with the cheese. Stuff like that. Unfortunately I live at school with no fridge and my boyfriend doesn't have much of the stuff I like because I'm only there on weekends. Just a couple more weeks and I will take over the kitchen for the summer! Muahahahahaha

eggs, bacon, half and half, parmigiano, mayo, sugar free jello, cream cheese, lettuce, etc. for salad, butter, various brined olives, soy sauce, lemons, garlic and ginger.

In the pantry: sesame, olive and canola oils; Japanese, white and red wine vinegars; and a zillion jars from Penzey's!
