||I Just Like Food
||Born and raised in Central Florida, I have a deep connection to the ocean and inland waterways. My father was born and raised in Florida as well, spending time as a boy on the family farm. My father instilled in me an appreciation for what it means to work the land, to respect the land and to care for the well being of it. My father also taught me the love of music, which has been a consist part of our family for generations. I play violin/fiddle, guitar, and mandolin and have concentrated on Bluegrass music for the last 20 years.
Having been a teenager during the revolutionary "Dot-Com Boom" in the mid to late 90's I was drawn to technology. Being self-taught the desire to enter the job market upon graduating high school was strong. So I began my career at the age of 18 working as a web developer and graphic artist at our town's largest Internet Service Provider. At the age of 21 I accepted a position working on the NASA web development team operating out of Kennedy Space Center. I lived in Brevard County for 6 years and being so close to the famous "Indian River Lagoon" re-kindled my love for fishing.
Like many mothers, my mother expressed a level of love and care through her cooking. Upon striking out on my own I missed the smell of food cooking in the evening and the comfort home cooked meals brought to me. I fell in love with cooking, and have never slowed down on my efforts to expand my understanding of food, as well as the application of art and technology in food - something that marries extremely well with my career in software development.
