Ruben Urias is an avid cook, legal professional, and student of the culinary arts. After receiving his juris doctorate degree, he was hired as a law clerk to the chief judge in Las Vegas, Nevada. While his love of the law has not waned, his passion for the law as a career did. With the encouragement of his wife, he jumped in with both feet to change careers and finally pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a culinary professional. Along this path, he has completed culinary courses, written a blog about the experience, landed an externship in a Michelin 1-star French restaurant in Vegas, succumbed to arthritis of the back, and written cookbook reviews and articles for ChefTalk. And even though the economy and realities of kitchen life has taken its toll, Ruben is continuing to pursue that dream. |
