Great Saute Pan for the Price

Posted

Pros: sturdy construction, even heating, ease of use/cleaning

Cons: none in my opinion

I love the T-Fal Elegance series of pots and pans.  They are made of a very solid construction and maintain a very even heating.  I find them easy to use, and easy to clean afterwards.   I use this saute pan on regular basis, and have never found a reason to dislike it.  It has a classy look, heats evenly, and with a few minutes of soaking and/or a brillo pad, I've never had a problem cleaning it.  This pan has held up to heavy use for three years, and still looks almost like it did the day I bought it.   I am NOT a fan of pans with teflon (or similar) coatings.  This pan has never given me a problem with things sticking on me, as long...

I Love This Chef Knife!

Posted

Pros: sturdy, solid construction, carbon-steel blade, full-tang, classic look

Cons: none in my opinion

For the record, I do not own this knife yet, but have used it (and the rest of the Meridian Elite series), which belonged to my roommate, for the last three years.  Also, this review will be similar to my review of any Messermeister Meridian Elite series knife, as my liking of these knives is for pretty much the same reason for each.   I liked this knife initially because of its classic look and full-tang construction.  I like a good solid knife, and although some prefer lighter knives I like this because I don't feel as if I am going to break it while I use it.  It does have a bit of a heft to it, and initially can be a bit tiring to use all day, but...

Good Quality Paring Knife

Posted

Pros: sturdy, keeps a good edge, comfortable grip, full-tang construction

Cons: none in my opinion

For the record, I do not own this knife yet, but have used it (and the rest of the Meridian Elite series), which belonged to my roommate, for the last three years.   I liked this knife initially because of its classic look and full-tang construction.  I like a good solid knife, and although some prefer lighter knives I like this because I don't feel as if I am going to break it while I use it.  It holds an edge VERY well, and only requires occasional sharpening.   I found this paring knife to be very comfortable to use, and very fast and precise with a bit of practice.  It held up very well to daily use by me and my roommate, both at home and at work in...

Great Small Mixer

Posted

Pros: Sturdy, powerful, easy to use

Cons: expensive

I've had this mixer for 9 months now, and I love it.  I bought it primarily for making bread, and it has held up to that, and other uses (it makes great whipped cream!) splendidly.  I was a bit unsure about buying it at first, because of the cost, but decided that, "You get what you pay for" and I didn't want to have a cheap mixer that would break on me quickly.  This mixer has proven to be very much worth the money I paid for it.
