I usually tilt the pan to coat with the batter when making crepes. But now I see Crepe batter spreaders, are they better than tilting the pan? I had never heard of the spreaders before.

I tilt pan and never used a spreader. Seems best when using a griddle that can't be tilted

I had never heard of the spreaders before I saw them on Amazon yesterday. I've always tilted the pan, as did my mother and grandmother.
