Feedback Needed: Hobart Slicer

I've emailed the owner an inquiry but I'll ask y'all. Does the Hobart slicer listed at the following url look as if it will slice slab bacon easily? The unit would be used domestically. TIA.

Just for slicing slab bacon, used domestically in other words. It appears that the carriage offers a handle that "places" the hand out of harm's way. And yes, I've heard of horrendous accidents occurring while slicing.
Checking local restaurant suppliers would probably be the best way to go since I can actually look at the item. I should inquire to local butchers, too. Sounds as if this deal isn't worth the cost due to S&H.
