TJ's introduced Grand Blue blue cheese in this month's Flyer.  I rushed to buy a chunk but it's not very tasty.  Made in Germany, it does not  have much tang or bite.  Guess they should stick to wursts.

Go find Wisconsin's Bleu Affinee which  I touted a few months ago.

Mike, if you like Wisconsin cheeses and especially bleu cheese I suggest you try Salemville. It is a co-op of Amish farmers and they are producing some really good bleu cheese. They make Amish Bleu, a Gorgonzola, and a smoked bleu cheese. I love them all.

Other than at their retail store, I am not sure, but they are distributed by DCI Cheese. Here's their website http://www.dcicheeseco.com/ You can check that out and see if they have a list of places that sell it in your area, or maybe a way to buy online.

WOW! So many mahalos (thanks) MikeLM! I saw that in the 'Flyer' that I just got and was thinking about a cheese platter

for Christmas Eve. Now I know NOT to add that one. I tried TJ's Gruyère as well as the Double Cream Gouda, YOWZAH!

DELISH!

Hi Mike,
I read your post about Trader Joe's Grand Blue cheese, shortly after I came back from Trader Joes very disappointed that I couldn't find any available. I get it that many folks like the sharp bite in cheese - the tangier the better. However there are a bunch of us other folk who find that sharpness downright uncomfortable on our tongue. We still love good cheese but look for the smoother, creamery variety because it doesn't hurt our mouth. I was so excited when I found Grand Blue because I had finally found a blue cheese that didn't hurt my mouth and tongue. It is unfortunate to put put folks off even trying it assuming that everyone's definition of delicious cheese is like mine or yours. Isn't it better to give a description of its qualities and leave followers with an open mind to give it a try. I,for one, will be extremely disappointed if TJ's stops carrying it. Just sayin' ......
