Happy Easter to everyone who loves Greek cuisine.

Today is Greek (or Orthodox) Easter and I've been celebrating it for close to 50 years. Myself and a lot of my friends migrated from Detroit to New York in and around 1980. Detroit had a thriving Greek town and we would frequent a small restaurant called "The International". The owner "Gus" and I became friends and he showed me how to make some dishes and I bought a Greek cook book in 1971 - I still reference it today. So today We invited friends over and I made:

Spanakopita
Lamb Kofta
String beans
Orzo

It is a labor of love, but one I'm willing to do for such a meal.

Awesome. There was a great Greek restaurant in Detroit called "Hella's" We'd buy their feta. and their handmade filo a lot.
I've been to Hella's - it was the only place that served octopus in wine sauce. I couldn't afford to eat there often which is why The International was our go to place.
Thank you @SonilaZ - tell us about Albanian cuisine please . . . I love learning about other nations foods although I understand many cultures cook the same type of dishes with minor seasoning changes.
